Banana Effectively Prevent Stroke

Not only refreshing, green vegetables, potatoes and bananas are rich in potassium could potentially reduce the risk of stroke and coronary artery disease or heart.
It's Based on a recent analysis based on the 10 studies published between 1966 and 2009 involving nearly 280 000 adults.

In advanced research ranging from 5 to 15 years, there are more than 5,500 cases of stroke and nearly 3100 coronary heart disease events.

Consuming foods rich in potassium impact on stroke risk reduction of 19% and the risk of coronary heart disease fell 8%. These findings support a global recommendation that eating more potassium-rich foods can be effective in preventing vascular disease, said Dr.. Pasquale Strazzullo, researchers from the University of Naples, Italy.

In a study presented at the annual conference of the American Heart Association's Nutrition, Physical Activity and Metabolism in San Francisco also mentioned other potassium-rich foods include soybeans, apricots, avocados, non-fat yogurt, beans and peas.

While other studies presented at the same event mentioned that a diet of fruits and vegetables can protect themselves from a stroke.
In the study, researchers analyzed the cases of stroke in more than 20,000 men and women aged 20 to 65 years, who were free of cardiovascular disease at study entry. For 10 years underwent the study, there were 233 cases of stroke among the study participants.

Once associated with a number of factors, the researchers found that those who consume lots of fresh vegetables and fruits (more than 262 grams per day), lower stroke risk 36% compared with their counterparts who do not eat many fresh vegetables and fruits (less than 92 grams per day).

However, there was no association between stroke risk with high consumption (more than 233 grams per day) or low intake (less than 113 grams per day) for processed fruits and vegetables, said Linda Oude Griep, researchers from Wageningen University, The Netherlands.
